As anyone going through the situation can attest, a separation involving a child custody dispute is one of the most heart wrenching and stressful times in all the parties lives. That is exactly where I found myself in 2019. With a partner that wasn’t interested in cooperating or finding a fair resolution, and, ultimately, who moved out with my child not allowing me to see him and to barely have any contact. Having retained two prior attorneys before working with Mrs. Moskowitz, and feeling as though I could not find the right advocate, I was disillusioned and unsure if and how I could effectively protect my parenting rights. I feared that I may lose my child, one whom I had been heavily involved and closely bonded with since birth. I was eventually referred to Mrs. Moskowitz, a breath of fresh air: honest, genuine, reasonable, professional and exceedingly qualified and competent. She is a long serving member of the Attorneys for Children’s Panel of the New York State Appellate Division for the First and Second Departments, which gave me added comfort of both her expertise and intentions. Within one court visit with Mrs. Moskowitz, a 50/50 parenting schedule was put in place. Ultimately, despite much ill-intentioned and deceptive legal maneuvering by the other party, with Mrs. Moskowitz representation, we settled on joint legal and physical custody after just a few court visits. Mind you, the other party had long insisted that they would never settle or agree to joint custody. Thankfully, Mrs. Moskowitz used the law to ensure a fair and appropriate resolution was reached. Once again, several years later, in 2023, the other party made false allegations against me of physical abuse in an attempt to win sole custody. I was served with an order of protection prohibiting me from seeing my son. I immediately contacted Mrs. Moskowitz who helped me in what was another desperate situation. She was a source of calm, and effective in getting the order of protection reduced on our first court visit so I could see my son under our normal schedule. Eventually, the order of protection against me was withdrawn completely. Justice had once again prevailed. However, without Mrs. Moskowitz, I am not certain that it would have. I simply cannot thank her enough or recommend her counsel more to anyone in a similarly difficult situation. I am forever grateful that I found her, and if you are reading this then I sincerely recommend you look no further.
